If I was to improve the film clubs website again to make it benefit the film club I would do things like making it more accessible, such as making links to access the rest of my site more obviously  by making them bigger and putting them in a more obvious place, for example at the top of the page. This would make the website better and make it more accessible.

 I have put a trailer for each movie to make the users experience better allowing them to see what’s on offer. This would allow the film club to have more viewers and allowing their website to be more noticed. I could have also made the pictures on my available films page clearer so they would stand out more and make it look better and allowing the people on the website to clearly see what movies are on. In the reviews page I could have made the table bigger and made the font size bigger to make the table stand out and look more important.

For the films page I could of added pictures and wrote information about each film to tell the user what the film is about if they have not already seen it. This would allow the users to be more interested in watching different films. I could put more information on my home page allowing the user to know more about the film club.

The way my page is set up allows it to be easily expanded upon encase the website takes off and need to expand as it could allow the website to have a function which allows the user to search the movies by genre allowing it to be easily used, this would be a great improvement if the website was to expand and be able to show more than 11 movies.

I could have put in a coming soon page allowing the students to know what is coming soon, letting them know what is coming to the film club. This would be good as if they see a film that is coming soon they could apply to the film club and watch it so it’s not last minute and securing them a place to see it.

Navigation

The way my site is navigated is through many of links to other pages. This is an easy way for the people that are on my site to view my other pages. I used hyper linked text in my links table to do this.

HTML

 HTML forms were used on my site in order to allow my users to write stuff in my forms such as star rating movie title ect.. in my reviews form and also so they could write in my payments form, after they would have written in it they would then submit it by pressing the submit button.

Audio and visual elements

Audio and visual elements were added to my site such as video clips from YouTube, I have many of YouTube trailers throughout my site. The way I done this was on YouTube them have a function that allows you to copy a embed code to your website. This allowed me to have clips in my website.

Hierarchy

This separates my page in order of import things such as the size, shape or font. The more important text would be larger. In my website I used bold large text for my website allowing the person on the website to see the table clearly and being able to understand the website.

On my website I made a logo in illustrator and I placed it in my website on the lift of my website, also used forms in my reviews and payments page and a submit button so they can submit their review on the film and their payment information. I had to make a table for my website to allow my back ground not to tile.

TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol)

This is a protocol that is used to connect hosts on the Internet. TCP/IP uses two main protocols, one is being TCP and IP. TCP/IP is built into the UNIX operating system the internet uses this, allowing it to be standard for transmitting data over networks. Even network operating systems that have their own protocols, such as Netware, also support TCP/I.

HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol)

 This protocol is used by the Web. It expresses how messages are formatted and transmitted. It allows the Web server and browsers to response to various commands. For example, when you enter a URL into browser, it actually sends an HTTP command to the Web server directing you to Web page.

HTTPS

This is where when you go onto a website the http changes to a https this indicates that the website is secure, this happens on websites such as Facebook amazon and twitter.

SMTP(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

This is a protocol for sending e-mails between servers. E-mail systems that send mail over the Internet use SMTP, to send messages from one server to another the messages can then be retrieved with an e-mail client using either POP or IMAP. In addition, SMTP is used to send messages from a mail client to a mail server. This is why you need to specify both the POP or IMAP server and the SMTP server when you configure your e-mail application.
